About Soma’s Watoto na Vitabu
The Soma’s Saturday children’s program has an overall objective to instill a culture of reading and writing in children through creative and participatory involvement in storytelling. This objective reflects our mission, to “Become an innovative co-creation hub for grooming the next generation of storytellers and literary”
Age
6 to 12 Year old
Time
Saturdays 10.00 AM to 12.00 Noon
Activities
Storytelling, story recreation, read aloud, singing/dancing, story performing, observing, listening and drawing
Facilitators
The program is facilitated by a team of passionate about reading, storytelling and are experienced
with children. It is child centered, experiential and focuses also on building character, group cohesion, confidence, leadership skills and upholds child rights. It is bilingual and seeks to embibe in children a sense of cultural identity.
Fee
Tsh. 150,000/= per term
(3 months) includes;
books and stationaries, certificate of attendance and an end of quarter folder with works of the child for the quarter.
In case the parents decide to pay per single visit (session), the fee is Tsh 15,000/=.
Fee can be paid in cash at Soma’s accounts office or deposited into Soma’s bank account
(account number upon request).
